Delicious food and massive quantities. I ordered the Mexican play just to keep it simple and there must have been four or five pounds of food. In three different containers. $13, amazing

Stuffed Sopapillas were banging!!! The meat was full of flavor, the dough was super tender and flaky, came out piping hot!! Very helpful staff, kinda crowded and no inside eating area. But who cares, there the best Mexican food in Albaquerque I've had. Tamales are good but not great, burrito was good and fat and meat was very tender!! Giving them the 5 for that Dynamite meat stuffed Sopapilla!!!

If I was going to recommend 1 place in ABQ for authentic-local food at ultra-reasonable prices..I would easily point on this place! Carne adovada burritos were a highlight. Eat out back on one of the outdoor picnic tables. Or take it with you (like most do). Maybe the largest kitchen I have ever seen.

Great food! Recommend the Mexican Plate if you have trouble to decide. Big portion can easily feed two people, stop by every time if you pass Albuquerque! The desert comes with honey, which also tasty just eat it along ! The ribs and enchiladas are also great! Phone in to order make sure you tell them your parking spot number, then they deliver to your car. Super easy!

Got dinner here last night, always delicious.???? Another place I've been going to since I was little and it's never changed and still remains one of the best places. I always recommend this place to anyone that asks for a suggestion. It gets busy and calling in your order is always the best way. Some of my favorites are the tamales, stuffed sopas, and the spare rib plate (you gotta love red chile for the ribs though.) ????

Best tamales and rice in town. This is NOT a sit down restaurant. It’s a grab and go. They have picnic tables outside by the parking lot. You can see the employees making tamales in the very large industrial kitchen.

Always a great place to get lunch. Everything here is great but the tamales are what they are known for. Will absolutely recommend to anyone.

How they make it: love it. Worth stopping. Worth the wait. They can make a sopapilla out of everything!

Old tradition when I come home to ABQ. It is alway great, very consistent, and you will wait for the food. I love the stuffed sopapillas and tamales. I like everything. The place it the same and a local staple.

El Modelo was my second "must eat" recommendation from local friends. I stopped in for a late breakfast and after a moment with the menu, chose the Huevos Rancheros. The ordering system and the wait for your order is a little chaotic. Just be patient and if you're unsure, ask. Everyone's friendly here! My food only took about ten minutes until my number was called. There is no dining room here. A picnic table outside might be used by some, but I brought my meal into the van and dug in. Eggs over medium, spicy beans, delicious tortilla and all of it was a great flavor. A little bit messy but absolutely tasty. And this is about as local as you can possibly get. El Modelo is coming up to 100 years and it's awesome. ¡Salud to another 100 years! [Review 21089 overall - 136 in New Mexico - 52 of 2024.]
